2009 League Information

September 21, 2009

Congratulations Coaches and Athletic Directors on a highly successful Registration Day on Wednesday.  71 schools registered on time

Most leagues are starting this week and coaches can expect to get a "hard copy" of their schedules from their league coordinator via email this weekend or early next week.  If you don't get a schedule contact your LEAGUE COORDINATOR.  League Coordinator emails will be listed on the home page of the website.  www.fvvc.bc.ca

Important items for ADs and Coaches:

1.  To LOGIN to the site to get your schedule (once it is loaded) you go to the HOME page and look on the bottom left hand side where you see the LOGIN box.  Type in your email address (that was used at registration) and the password (that was entered at registration)  If you are unsure about the password that was used talk to the person who did your registration.  If they were unsure what to use we suggested they use your last name.

2.  Once you are logged in you can change your password.  Forgot your password?  Email  webmaster@fvvc.bc.ca

3.  Once you are logged in you will be able to see your schedule.  At this point none, all or part of your schedule may be logged into the site.  We have over 600 matches to enter so be patient.  Please go by whatever your league coordinator has provided until you can see your schedule on the website.

4.  If you find a discrepency between the website and what the league coordinator has given you contact your league coordinator to find out which is correct.  It could be a login error.

5.  The LOGIN box is where you REPORT YOUR SCORES.  Do not call your league coordinator.  BUT...keep your scoresheets until the end of the season, in case of disagreement.  The winner of each match enters the scores.

6.  Currently, there are 16 schools that are facing fines for not having a back-up or secondary phone number for one or more coaches from their schoolPlease log in enter a home/cell phone for all your coaches by Wednesday to avoid a $50. fine.

7.  Want to get certified?  Level 1 Certification Course - A Level 1 coaching clinic is being offered on October 23/24 for Fraser Valley coaches who are interested in obtaining Level 1 NCCP certification.  The course will take place on Friday, October 23 (a Pro-D day for many) and Saturday, October 24th.

Location:  Elgin Park Secondary,  South Surrey

A Fraser Valley Commission sponsored rate of $40.00 per person is offered to Fraser Valley coaches. This course is intended for community and high school coaches in the Fraser ValleyHigh school coaches are encouraged to apply for Pro-D funds from their school.

Please contact Sharon Carter if you are interested in reserving a spot in this session. carter_s@sd36.bc.ca      First come, first serve!

Step 3  - Payment for league registration fees on September 16, 2009

A cheque for the correct amount ($400 per senior team, $800.00 for 2 teams)

Payment for leagues must be paid in person to the REGISTRAR at the registration site. All cheques should be payable to Elgin Park Secondary. Cheques made out incorrectly (wrong name, wrong amount) will be returned and the late fee will be applied)

Failure to Register on Time

a)  Failure to Register for Volleyball Leagues on Time

Schools that do not send a representative to register in person on September 16th will not have teams in senior leagues.  Schools that miss the registration date and want to apply to enter a league(s) can make application to enter a league by having their athletic director contact the appropriate league coordinator and the Fraser Valley Volleyball Commissioner by Septeber 18th, 2009.    By requesting to enter a league the school must be prepared to immediately pay the $150.00 late fee.

Schools that have not contacted their league coordinator, paid the $150.00 late fee and paid their league fees to the Commissioner by September 18th (3:00 pm) will not be included in Fraser Valley leagues for the 2009 season.

b)  Failure to Register with all Athletic Associations

Schools that are not fully registered with all associations by September 25, 2009 will be suspended from competition until their registration is received in the offices of the association in question. All and any matches that occur while a school is under suspension will be considered forfeits

Check Enrollment Numbers

It is crucial that the athletic director find out the enrollment numbers (prior to September 16) to determine the numbers of Grade 11 & 12 boys and girls in the school.  Each school’s teams must be placed in the correct league at the start of the season. The enrollment numbers must be obtained from the school registration clerk and the accurate  numbers must placed on the FV League Registration Form and brought to one of the registration sites on September 16, 2009.  Failure to do so will result in a $100 fine for the school.
